Who will come to my home for the consultation?

We have several Renewal by Andersen window and door specialists in your area. When they arrive, he or she will have identification.

How long will my in-home consultation take?

The length of your consultation depends on how many questions you have and how many windows are in your home. We usually say roughly 90 minutes.

Who is Renewal by Andersen?

Renewal by Andersen is the replacement window division of the Andersen Corporation. Renewal by Andersen was started with the intention of providing the best start-to-finish window replacement product in the market. Renewal by Andersen has installed millions of replacement windows across the entire country over the past decade. Renewal by Andersen has a reputation for having the best windows and customer service available and is the #1 replacement window dealer in the nation.

Can I have a partial number of windows replaced rather than doing my full home?

Absolutely. Many homeowners opt to do their window and door replacement projects in phases. Our design specialists can help you determine the best plan to meet your needs and budget.

What if you run into rot while you're replacing my windows?

Our installers will keep you informed of their progress throughout your installation. In most cases, there is clear evidence of rot before the installation begins, and the design consultant can address that with you at the time of your in-home consultation. If the installers do come across any unexpected rot during the installation, we will work with you to find the best solution and work to repair it as quickly as possible.

In some cases, rot may be obvious but there isn’t always clear evidence of rot prior to the installation. Because of this reality, it has been said “there is a cost associated with doing nothing” and that’s something to keep in mind. One of the reasons to get windows replaced is to investigate existing conditions as the old windows are being pulled to ensure deterioration isn’t occurring without your knowledge. If rot is found, our installers possess the skills needed to repair any deterioration at a cost of material plus labor basis.

Can you install my windows in the winter?

Absolutely! Our skilled installers work year-round completing home improvement projects for homeowners all over Maine, regardless of the season or temperatures. This is something that SHOULD NOT be done with hollow core vinyl replacement windows, as they are very unstable. In other words, if you install vinyl windows in the cold weather, they shrink. Then, when warm weather returns, they will expand drastically and fight against the points where they were anchored to the opening, causing them to warp and twist.

What are Renewal by Andersen windows made of?

Our windows are made from Fibrex® material, an Andersen-exclusive composite that combines the strength and stability of wood mixed with a polymer, making it resistant to rot. They are designed for energy efficiency, durability, beauty, and minimal maintenance, our windows stand the test of time and are backed by a robust limited warranty. The Fibrex® is not just rot resistant, it is essentially ROT PROOF, or impervious to moisture.

All Fibrex® material is manufactured with a solid layer of acrylic encasing the entire piece. For you, this means it will never peel, come apart or chip, eliminating the need for refinishing. The tough layer is also non-porous and therefore will not grow mold.

What is Fibrex®?

Fibrex® is made of a composite material engineered for strength and rigidity that insulates well in all climates. Utilizing 60% wood fibers gives you the benefits and stability of wood, without the maintenance or worry of rot.
